I hate that this has been re-opened, but I in a way I'm also glad. It shows that the party is still removed from the socially progressive policy and serves as ammunition in the next election.
We all know PM Harper has been quite socially conservative in the past. It's good to see that he's beginning to show his true colours again.

Harper is an idiot. He is offering nothing progressive on the issue. And quite frankly, neither did the Liberals.
Harpers plan, if approved, would abolish gay rights for the sake of the religious definition of marriage.
The Liberal plan takes a swipe at the religious definition of marriage and calls the subject "moot" in the name of legal rights.
I am in favour of keeping the definition of the word marriage religious, but not exclusive to one man and one woman.
I would rather see ALL couples, heterosexual and homosexual, go through a Civil Union for their legal rights and then have their own, private, relgious Marriage separate. This would return the institution of marriage back to its religious and historical purpose (the blessing of the Church and God on a couple) and it would favour all the legal rights of those living together - whether that be a man and a woman, two men, or two women.
I agree with Dylan! ... So, how can we use this brilliant idea to somehow screw Calgary?
